This position paper, Tackling Image-Based Sexual Abuse (IBSA) Among Young People, brings together insights from a multi-stakeholder workshop hosted as part of Safer Internet Day 2025. It responds to increasing concerns about the scale and complexity of IBSA in young people’s lives, driven by rapidly evolving technologies such as deepfakes and AI-generated content. Drawing on contributions from academics, educators, tech industry representatives and safeguarding professionals attending and presenting at the workshop, the paper argues for a more holistic, evidence-informed response grounded in collaboration, ethics and empowerment.
